Handcrafted Kantha Toiletries Bag
This remarkably beautiful Zippered Toiletries Bag is constructed from up-cycled Indian Saris!
Working with up cycled traditional materials, these women Artisans in East India make these incredibly artistic bags out of Saris that would ordinarily just be thrown away. This beautiful, handcrafted Toiletries Bag is then decorated by hand with Kantha stitching, which is their regional specialty.
The fashioning of these bags provide needed income for these artisans, allowing them to provide a better life for their families.
This bag can be used to carry makeup, brushes or larger toiletries, like when traveling - or any small items you want to keep together in one place. This one has a water-resistant plastic lining on the interior, which gives the bag a longer life. Handmade in India by skilled artisans.

ABOUT THE MAKERS
Sasha Association for Craft Producers - supports traditional craft techniques and at-risk artisan communities. Your purchase builds the skills of poor and marginalized groups, enhancing their access to markets and information, and increasing their income and productivity in a sustainable way.
Sarba Shanti Ayog was created in 1978 to impact the lives of marginalized and disadvantaged producers in eastern India. Established as a network of production, marketing, and capacity-building competencies, Sasha represents crafts producers from rural and semi-urban areas—mostly in eastern India—finding needed export outlets for their handcrafts. Sasha's unique model of promoting grassroots participation and organizing groups into larger crafts consortiums allows producers to specialize in different aspects of textile styling—or to combine their skills to make unique products. Workers from more than 70 craft groups benefit from health campaigns, improved working conditions, and stable incomes. Nearly 70% of the producers Sasha works with are women.
